TEST OF TIME

The images in this series are made with a pinhole camera and an exposure time ranging from 8 to 48 hours. The path that the sun describes across the sky and its reflection on the water become visible. At times, the line is interrupted, revealing moments when clouds covered the sun.

As the project evolved, I found myself drawn to the cyclic movement of time and water, both as fundamental aspects of human existence and as some of the most mysterious forces in nature. The images center on the contemplative qualities of water, exploring how light and water serve as metaphors for the passage of time.

To create this series, I worked within an expanding set of concentric circles around my home, searching for ponds, marshes, and small bodies of water. I started closest to home and gradually moved outward, discovering new locations along the way. Although the project is practically complete, I still occasionally come across a place that compels me to take another photograph.
