WORKSHOPS
I provide workshops for young and old in pinhole photography.
These workshops can take place at any location. I can come to your school or company for example, or you can visit my studio located at the site of an open-air swimming pool in Groningen.
I started teaching in 2001 when I was invited as a guest teacher by a primary school.
So I organised a workshop on pinhole photography where children build their own cameras, learned the basics and exhibited their work afterwards.
I enjoyed working with young children, and since then, I visited many schools for pinhole photography workshops and customised photography projects.
A few years later, in 2004, I started giving basic and advanced photography courses in my studio.
Soon I added a landscape photography workshop and a short introduction course to the list.
From 2006 until 2018, I was a teacher at the Photo Academy for 1st and 2nd-year students, first in Groningen and from 2014 in Amsterdam.
Today I work as a freelance educator at Noorderlicht, an international platform for professional photography.
I organise guided tours, workshops and lots of other projects for various groups of people.
I have always continued to give pinhole workshops.
The workshops are fun and informative for both young and old. Not knowing the result makes it a process full of excitement and surprises. I still enjoy watching others going through this magical experience.
