My pinhole photography workshops can take place anywhere. I can visit your school or company, or you can come to my studio, located at an open-air swimming pool in Groningen.
I started teaching in 2001 when a primary school invited me as a guest teacher.
I organized a pinhole photography workshop where children built their own cameras, learned the basics of pinhole photography and exhibited their work. Seeing their excitement sparked my passion for teaching, and since then, I have led many photography workshops and organized custom projects in schools.
In 2004, I began offering basic and advanced photography courses in my studio, later expanding with a landscape photography workshop and a one day introductory course. From 2006 to 2018, I taught first- and second-year students at the Photo Academy, first in Groningen and later in Amsterdam. Until recently, I also worked as an educator at Noorderlicht, an international platform for lens-based media, where I organized guided tours, workshops, and all kinds of projects for diverse groups.
Through all these years, pinhole photography workshops have remained close to my heart. The unpredictability of the process makes it a magical experience, full of excitement and surprises, for both young and old. I still love watching participants discover the unexpected beauty in their images.
